PS3 firmware update 4.25 upgrades PS Plus cloud save space

PlayStation Plus subscribers will see their cloud storage space for save files increase from 150MB to 1GB when PS3 firmware update 4.25 goes live tomorrow.

PlayStation Plus subscribers will see their cloud storage space for save files increase from 150MB to 1GB when PS3 firmware update 4.25 goes live tomorrow.

The save space expansion was announced during Sony's Gamescom 2012 press conference, and only applies to PlayStation Plus users — unsubscribed PS3 owners have no access to cloud saves whatsoever. The expansion of save space will likely come as a relief to folks who've racked up a few dozen beefy Skyrim saves, which can easily run a few megabytes a piece.

We've contacted Sony to find out if any other substantial changes are coming as part of the firmware update.
