Nintendo introduced a Super Metroid themed level for Nintendo Land, "Metroid Blast," at its press conference in New York City today.

One player control Samus' ship with the Wii U Gamepad while a second controls a Mii in Samus' armor on the ground. The player on the ground shoots enemies on foot, while the GamePad player fires down from the ship.

There are eight mission modes in "Metroid Blast," both for co-op multiplayer or single player. These modes include a ground-versus-air team fight and a free-for-all battle on the ground only. This mini game is similar to a tech demo shown alongside the Wii U's unveiling at E3 2011.

Nintendo also revealed the "Pikmin Adventure" co-op multiplayer minigame and "Mario Chase" competitive attraction. "Mario Chase" sets players to chasing each other through mazes crafted to look like classic Mario game environments. "Pikmin Adventure" has players join forces to take down some nasty baddies from the Pikmin world.

Nintendo Land will be a Wii U launch title, releasing alongside the console on November 18th.
