'Dishonored' video turns designers into game testers

The latest developer diary for Dishonored, Arkane Studios' stealth-action steampunk title, sees the game's creators talk about the relief of finishing a massive development project.

The video talks about the strange shift that comes near the end of a game's development cycle, when its designers and creators suddenly become testers. The video gives some insight into a step of the game creation process that's not normally discussed: When, after the game is feature complete, the developer can go through the title with a player's eyes, and make some of the most important tweaks and changes that the game can receive.

Check out the video below to see this process described, and to witness the death of at least two dozen unlucky palace guards. Dishonored will launch on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on October 9th in North America.
