'Neverwinter' trailer shows the steely resolve of the Guardian Fighter

Neverwinter's Guardian Fighter class is capable of soaking up and dishing out a lot of damage, all using the MMO's fast-paced, action-oriented combat, as seen in the game's latest trailer.

Neverwinter's Guardian Fighter class is capable of soaking up and dishing out a lot of damage, all using the upcoming MMO's fast-paced, action-oriented combat, as seen in the game's latest trailer.

The Guardian Fighter is a class specialization pulled directly from Dungeons and Dragons: 4th Edition, using powers familiar to the tabletop game's players like "Tide of Iron" and "Cleave." The Guardian Fighter will need to use these abilities — along with his more powerful Encounter and Daily powers — to gain the attention of the team's enemies, and mitigate damage using his trusty shield. Clever Fighters can even use the powers to corral foes into advantageous clusters, making them more easily dispatched by the other members of the team.
