League of Legends will soon be getting an Honor system, developer Riot Games announced recently.

The game has long had systems in place to find and punish troublemakers. But the studio wants to "empower [the] community to proactively be even more awesome." It's introducing an Honor system to give players a way to thank and give something back to people who did something kind for them. Riot has "found that some of the most meaningful, memorable moments in League come from the positive interactions players have with each other," and it wants to encourage that kind of behavior.

League of Legends' Honor system is coming in the next update to the game's public beta environment, and Riot will provide more information about it in a future patch.
