GameStop has opened a wait list for the Wii U for PowerUp Rewards members only.

GameStop has started a wait list for the Wii U for PowerUp Rewards members only, the company announced today.

Program participants can join the list at any GameStop store for free, and will be notified when a console is available for purchase. Members will then have 48 hours to respond and claim their Wii U.

"Demand for the Wii U has been off the charts and we know many of our PowerUp Rewards members are anxious to get their hands on one," said president Tony Bartel said in a press release. "We're happy to offer our customers this exclusive opportunity to join the wait list for this must-have item."

The Wii U will launch on November 18th in North America along with 17 games.
