Namco announced the new title at a stage event during the Tokyo Game Show. Few details are currently known about the game, though Namco did reveal that the 2012 winner of the Miss Macross 30 contest, Haruka Chisuga, will provide the vocals for the theme song.
The Macross franchise, a combination of anime and video games, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. Each game has been an exclusive Japan release, with no word on release dates for other regions.
