A new Ecco the Dolphin game could be on the horizon.
A new Ecco the Dolphin game could be on the horizon, according to a series of tweets from creator Ed Annunziata.
Annunziata turned to social media to spread the word, tweeting, "Ecco fans, I need you to follow & tweethank @scottfoe, he convinced SEGA to meet with me now chances of a new Ecco the Dolphin x100!"
Scott Foe is a consultant on mobile and social games who previously worked with Sega.
Earlier this afternoon, Annunziata tweeted, "Spencer is on board! (puttin' the band back together!)" in reference to composer Spencer Nilsen, who worked on the soundtracks for Ecco the Dolphin and Ecco 2: The Tides of Time.
Ecco the Dolphin is an action-adventure game originally published by Sega in 1992; it follows a bottlenose dolphin named Ecco who travels through time and fights enemies in the ocean. There are four Ecco the Dolphin titles in the series to date.
