Film Victoria launches new programs to support local games industry
Film Victoria – the government body that supports the film, television, and digital media sectors in the Australian state of Victoria – launched two new programs today to support local game developers.
The first program assists in the development of games and encourages the creation of original intellectual property (IP). Companies will be eligible for an investment between $30,000 and $90,000 to develop a prototype or full game, depending on the level of their experience.
The second program assists in the marketing of games. Companies will be able to apply for grants of up to $25,000 to help cover the costs associated with marketing, business and legal expenses on their projects.
The deadlines to apply for funding are November 14th for the game development support and November 21st for the games marketing support. For more details on eligibility and how to apply, visit Film Victoria.
