EverQuest 2 announced its ninth expansion today, confirming that EverQuest 2: Chains of Eternity is currently in development.
In a letter from the producer posted on the official EverQuest 2 forums, the developer announced that the expansion pack will explore an Ethermere where something has gone terrible wrong and is bleeding through the mortal plane. It is up to the player to save the mortal and immortal realms from collapse.
The letter lists a number of new features that the expansion will introduce. Among them are more quests, the increase of Adventure and Tradeskill levels to 95, Organic Adornments that allow players to gain experience and grow more powerful as a result, lots of new loot, and additional free content to be released at the same time as the expansion.
EverQuest 2 will still provide new content to prior expansions. Chains of Eternity will be released sometime in November.
