‘PlanetSide 2’ Alpha Squad Package grants instant access to beta

A pre-launch package for PlanetSide 2 is now available for gamers interested in accessing the game's beta, Sony Online Entertainment announced today. Players can purchase the Alpha Squad Package for $39.99.

In addition to the beta, players will also get 4,000 in Station Cash, armor camouflage, an exclusive "Founder" title, six months of 10 percent XP boosts, and an exclusive weapon unlock for nearly every class in the game's three factions.

Purchasers won't receive a beta key, but will instead have their accounts flagged for access. The package will only apply to the account once and is non-transferrable, although any character created on the account will receive the pre-order benefits.

The Alpha Squad Package can be purchased on PlanetSide 2's website. No release date for PlanetSide 2 has been announced.
