I love cats, sass and RPGs. Yell things at me on Twitter.
Conception and Persona do share a lot of the same ground, but Conception 2 lacks the depth of say, Persona 4. You can’t knock the game for not being a Persona title, because it isn’t, after all. But even without comparing it to similar titles, I don’t think it’s interesting enough to provide a really enjoyable experience.
About the cutscenes: as you said, they do get longer, and it’s the more intense ones that creeped me out. Cutscenes like the one you provided are just kind of strange, but not bad at all. When you get to girls bending over for genitalia shots, writhing around, etc. etc., it’s gross.
The whole thing about classmating or even classmanting is that it’s unnecessarily sexualized. Sex is great! I think sex should be in games, but when it’s appropriate. If characters are having sex to produce starbabies, scenes like that make sense. But if they’re just holding hands, it feels silly.
That being said, I’m happy you’re enjoying the game. I wouldn’t want anyone to play this game if they hate it as much as I did.
As the reviewer, I (naturally, ha ) disagree! This game is half dating sim, and I spend a lot of time talking about why I think its relationship building fails. My biggest problem with this game is that it’s boring, plain and simple — not its sexualization.
At the end of the day, I want to play a game that’s fun. I can disagree with certain aspects of a game and still enjoy it, but unfortunately that’s not the case here. Total snoozer.
Danganronpa is a fantastic game! That’s one that I would highly recommend.
