I believe it’s just the base games. All content gets a discount if you’re subscribed to EA Access. Though how much of a discount is unknown to me. I’m not a betting man but I would figure there’s a basic 10% discount on DLC across the board and maybe “specials” that go at 20%-50% if at all.
But Madden isn’t a make or break deal. I wonder if EA has a release schedule for Access that’s public.
I’d guess probably not since it may interfere with possible, actual purchases.
Madden, FIFA, battlefield 4, and Peggle 2.
I think it would be worth it, even to give FIFA and Madden an honest try since I never have personally purchased one of those games. No NFS yet.
Anyone with an Xbox One using EA Access? I’m debating on trying it out for a year and I’ve heard generally positive things.
$30 is a drop in the bucket and on paper, everything looks nice and easy but some unexplained part of me is holding back on committing.
I need to beat A Link To The Past. I’m trying to decide which Zelda I’ll do next. I can use the backwards compatibility in the Wii U for TP or SS or VC for LttP.
Platforming is a bit of a pain in some sections. I strangely have difficulty in the pirate rope section and the plants that launch Link by the Deku tree. I got frustrated with the Deku tree section but realized that your input matters more after you’ve been launched than prior.
My error was holding forward on the joystick prior to launching thinking I would launch forward when in reality it would nudge just enough to miss the bud I launched from. The game, without really telling me, wanted me to push forward after I’ve launched. Any adjustments needed to be made in flight, not the few seconds you had in between launches.
I don’t know. I thought that was weird.
Yes. No inversion on the Y axis is annoying. Arrows, boomerangs, ninja rope hook shot thing, and whatever else in first person mode is painful but I’ve adjusted.
Z targeting is also my friend but that’s primarily combat situations.
I’m sure it can’t be that bad but I always expect a video game to have a section that’s unlike the rest of it. Time will tell.
Wind Waker HD is quickly climbing the ranks to my favorite Zelda ever. With the exception of all this ocean seafaring junk, which is honestly somewhat growing on me, I love just about everything else about it.
Something I’ve been picking up is how light hearted the game is. For example, Link’s facial expressions are hilarious and there’s a Wile E Coyote feel injected into shenanigans that have occurred. I like it. There’s a mix of serious and fun but they mesh extremely well. There’s no jarring clash between transitions and it feels natural.
It’s a great game so far. Took me a moment to get used to the gamepad mappings but now it’s second nature.
I’m unsure if nostalgia and my childhood will ever let Link’s Awakening be dethroned but I am enjoying this more than OoT and the little of Twilight Princess I’ve played on a Wii.
Without diving into spoilers, I’ll be vague and say I just got the master sword.
I might have 8-9 MVPs left and then I can regenerate. I had to look up why deadly apparition was so hard and it turns out I was doing it wrong the whole time so I spent a few games heavily focusing on minions.
I’ll be on today after work for sure.
Happy Friday Glavin.
You missed more Titanfall last night and I’m almost a gen ten. Ascension is within my grasp.
Sadly I don’t have any biological minions to do those tasks.
Perhaps I could train the cat.
…Yes, I believe we may be on to something.
I’m playing Wind Waker HD and it’s a blast but I’m not in love with the traveling by boat. I’m on my way to the third dungeon now and the disinterest I have in sailing is phenomenally high.
Am I enjoying the game otherwise but I feel as though I’m missing something. So far, my sailing consists of picking a direction, changing the wind, setting the sail… And putting the game pad down until I reach that “block” on the map.
Sounds like a good time. One of these days I’ll go to one of these things. Maybe if this new job comes through because then I’ll have a better vacation schedule.
Yes, they are. They beat us in a game or two. One of which was an insane come back on their end.
It was a good time, no doubt. We had a full team for the most part and ended up playing against Sparktastic and some other guys we have partied up with (randomly). It was funny.
Hopefully next time you’ll join us.
I hate to say, Glavin, but I’ve moved on from Gen 8. I’m almost to Gen 10 challenge wise (sitting at 50).
There’s so much I don’t know. I am ashamed.
On a positive note, we kicked a metric ton of butt last night on Titanfall.
PD is quite active today. I’ll chalk that up to that good ol Gamescon.
Maybe I’ve been out of the loop for a while but I didn’t realize that Gamescon was a mini E3. That’s pretty cool.
I’ll be on at various times this weekend. I’m off so just send me an invite or message if you all are getting together at a certain time
I sometimes forget it’s there but I do like when I stumble on it. That and Last Titan Standing are my two top favorites. CTF still makes me want to eat a bowl of painkillers.
Still there and they’ve integrated it into the variety pack rotation.
Last invite I got was from Bold and that felt like years ago.
It’s been a while since I’ve played with you guys.
Marked for Death is incredibly fun. There’s a weird panic that sets in when the display says “YOU ARE MARKED FOR DEATH” and the count down starts.
I just bought my first pack but I think I’m at 7k credits.
I’ve been on the back and forth with winning and losing. A lot of my lost games have had dead weight which is somewhat annoying. Generally one or two players who either aren’t playing or are only dying. In games like Last Titan Standing it is impossible to win against a group that is semi working together. Other game types I’ve been able to pull their weight but even that success rate is low.
I just grow tired of teammates who’s only contribution to the game is the other team’s score.
It’s a time sink for sure. Gen 9 will be a breather.
Good thing about Gen 8 though is that hardware unlock achievement I’m also going for because why not? I just have two more guns to finish.
I’ll have to check mine but I know it’s not quite that much.
I just like it because I can focus on what types of cards I would like versus the almost purely random nature of the game with the exception of challenge unlocks.
