9to6 worker, gamer, nice guy.
That was probably because of the relation between pixel density/screen size and viewing distance…
Well, for the rest of the year a lot of games catch my eye… with no particular order: Tales of Xillia 2, Destiny, Alien: Isolation, AC Unity, Bayoneta 2, Super Smash Brothers, Dragon Age Inquisition, Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor, The Evil Within and Evolve.
The only ones I’m kinda sure I’ll get are Destiny and Xillia 2. I’ll probably leave DA:Inquisition for next year if/when I get a new PC (probably around the time Witcher 3 comes out), and AC: Unity for a price drop.
The others, if I get them, I’ll get them if they’re good and probably when their price drops.
I used to buy a LOT of things from amazon UK… but then they killed the free shipping option to Portugal and it stopped being worth it.
I don’t hate large crowds per se… but I hate that feeling of lost time queuing up.
The way this fall is shaping up… better to ask what’s not. :p
(personally I’m trying not to get many games… :s)
The wonders of the Power Glove! :p
And that was a great post-Black Friday deal, too!
I never had a lot of patience for queues, to be honest, and since I try to plan for the things I need/want in advance I end up searching for better options than these good but crazy sales… unfortunately for the HC Kit I haven’t seen a better offer yet.
Meanwhile, someone posted a pic of one the stores before opening: http://i.imgur.com/DU9Daj1.jpg
Hey everyone! Just dropping by before getting lunch, how’s everyone doing?
I’m doing ok, even though my stomach’s acting up a bit – probably because of yesterday’s mexican dinner. :p
So, today Media Markt stores (a large German – I think – chain that’s in several countries and sells electronics and appliances) here are discounting the VAT in all products.
They’ve done this a couple of times in the past four years or so, usually on a weekend – it gets crazy with queues before opening and people running all around trying to get TVs, refrigerators, computers and cellphones with a sizable discount (VAT here’s 23%).
So, I’ve been eying a Home Cinema Kit that they’ve been selling for 230€ instead of the usual 300-340€ (with the discount it would cost around 185€), and a friend of mine need a new PS3 to replace his kid brother’s. Since it’s the first time the store does this on a week day, he thought it wouldn’t be a problem to just show up somewhat early… let’s just say he went there at 10:30am (store opens at 10am), there were absolutely no Home Cinema Kits under 600€ and no PS3s, PS4s or Wii Us available…. and the cash register queue went to the up second floor of the store…. needles to say he turned around and went home.
So, in this thread: crazy retail stories. Go! :p
I’m afraid of asking…. which subreddit? :p
hah, ok – guess I asked the wrong person :p
I assume it’s probably cause the loadouts aren’t fixed which causes a dominion of gear over skill, but I want to know more.
As I said below, I’m not really into competitive shooter so my foray into the Crucible was one the first Comp-MP I did.
Can you explain me why is it unbalanced? I’m really interested in trying to understand “those things” better.
You just summed up what I felt. I never played a lot of online, I suck at competitive shooters and don’t like the grindy/time-consuming aspect of MMOs.
I found a bunch of random strangers from my town that ended up being a great group, and played with them from the Alpha to the end of the second Beta phase and had genuinely fun so…… I’ll probably pre-order a digital edition from the US PSN (‘cause it’s cheaper :p)
I understand that for people that come from other shooters, either expecting Halo vNext or something else, or from people that come from MMOs Destiny might not be great but… I had fun. :p
I read something about main game + 2 expansions + sequel + 2 expansions + se-sequel + 2 expansions…. can’t source it, though :\
I never got there but did it look like a pit of light? A few PSN friends were talking about going down, down and down on a similar structure, for around an hour or so. They killed a few level 9 captains and two ogres, I think.
Just curious if that’s the part that’ll be DLC.
I think destinydb.info had more info on the locations, number and level of missions, strikes and the like.
You’re right, you’re right :\
…. Oni May Cry.
I miss Onimusha. I wish they’d bring it back but, at same time I’m afraid of how they’d “modernize” it. :\
Regarding game opening scenes…. I have a special place in my gamer memory for the shot where you see Midgard for the first time in FF7, but Soul Reaver’s opening was pretty cool for its day, too.
I absolutely loved Guacamelee, it’s a great game! :p
I’m…pretty Monday-ish, to be honest. At least tomorrow’s my last exam for this trimester, and then I “only” have to put up with a hectic month at work before having two weeks off.
Anyway, I loved the Destiny Beta and will probably go back to Demon’s Souls :p
The killer burgers from outer space.
It does have a certain ring to it.
Hope it doesn’t take long for you to get better, man.
Get better, Arch. I remember you mentioning you had a sore throat and you though it would get worse… did it? :\
I read that as a “near future” kind of thing. My brain’s a bit off today, sorry.
I wouldn’t mind! But I think they said it was still years off? I’m betting on 2016.
It’s the same article from the original review, so the comments continue from the ones that were there – I think.
I was kinda fearing a rehash of old discussions, to be honest.
I’m not touching that… at all. Good luck!
They’ll also be unlocking the moon mission :D
Oh, I was unaware of that – thought it was something from LegoMSH with that caption. I might look into it.
At least Iron Fist has powers :p (and the Fraction/Brubaker run is awesome)
