When playing with friends/coaches, I think it’s really important to have voice communication available.

That doesn’t seem much clearer! But you’re right, obviously. It’s more complicated than strict roles once you get better. That said, it’s complicated walking into things with that idea.

Every sport with equipment has some variety of technical variation and advantage based on the quality and type of equipment. But I agree that the variables present in the Dota 2 shop metagame are very, very complicated.
I’ll try to get something up this week about how to find better games and how to have a better time playing the game in my experience.
