I love tech. Also love writing and design. Blogging so cray on www.techgeek.com.au and www.pixelcustard.com
1. Grand theft auto IV
3. Keep working towards 100% completion, but keep getting lost in the world. Such an amazing story, but also an amazing game
Enjoyed the story and atmosphere of TLOU, but that gameplay. Completely agree with Phil’s original review. Might check this out eventually, but still a bit wary now of Naughty Dog games.
Love The Besties, so glad you didn’t kill it. But there seem to be a lot of shows about just playing games. First there was Besties, but now there’s Polygon Live and Overviews, which all have subtle differences but might burn people out after focusing on a game for such a long period of time. Take GTA V for instance. There would be a review, a Polygon Live 30 minute playthrough, a 60 minute Overview, then a long discussion on Besties. Might just be too much on the same thing.
Maybe Besties could become more like The Vergecast, where you do news every week, and then once a month do a whole episode on just games (like this episode). Because, if anything, all these game-related shows are just making me see this big gap for actual news discussion. Friends List is sort-of that, but is produced so quickly that there’s rarely much time for the writers to think too deeply about the topics. It’s almost like a think-and-go show.
Still, happy you’re back, but getting a bit worried that readers (including myself) might just get burnt out before the monthly episode goes live.
