I’ve never understood this criticism of GTA IV. I thought it was bold and really refreshing for Rockstar to make a game that was serious (and for me, brilliant) but still had plenty of silly sideshows for those who wanted that. To say that games should only be a holiday is the complete opposite to what is said of other games, yet if GTA tries (and succeeds) at being serious, they’re torn down.

I loved IV and I’m worried by the possible backtracking on the generally-serious tone of that game.

I’m looking forward to this, but mainly because I love GTA. Criticisms of that formula confuse me in a world of stale-shooters that get a 10/10 (BioShock Infinite).
