I absolutely see that argument. But I also like the idea of a moment of gamer silence. I wonder if there is a way to do that wouldn’t draw such negative assumptions.

It’s an interesting issue. Ultimately though, it feels contrived to argue that people should invest in a console in the hope that studios will see that investment and develop and release new games.
That said, I completely see where you are coming from. It’s a bit of a chicken-egg problem.
I don’t work for the game industry, I work for our readers, and I think, I hope, I’m giving you good advice.
It would be pretty amazing if the major next-gen console issues ended up being caused by poorly packed systems shipped from one company.
