Reporter for a small town newspaper, technophile, player of the video games, listener of the musics.
Rami Ishmail told me last month he had heard from several people complaining that YouTube had removed monetization privileges from LP videos of Vlambeer games. That’s what prompted the developer to start their monetization permission generator: http://www.sidequesting.com/2013/11/vlambeers-monetizethathit-page-allows-you-get-filthy-rich-on-its-games/
As Gabe says in the post, it sounds like this move will only affect third-party shows.
Penny Arcade TV “as a channel for third party shows” is also shutting down.
I have a trove of SNES games I haven’t been able to play for a while because my HDTV doesn’t have VGA inputs, nor does it work well with the antenna adapter. I also have this deep regret of getting rid of my old Sega Genesis a long time ago, so I really want to buy back some of the games I used to play way back in the day.
Another reason: GBA playback.
I remember when Griffin McElroy was making a lot of noise about this on the Besties. The game looks beautiful in HD and the mining/spelunking mechanics are right up my ally. Happy to see it coming to PC.
Some amazing soundbites in this episode, including the musical opener and Griffin’s rant about wobblegate (or why it shouldn’t be wobblegate). This is why I keep coming back to listen every week.
