Had not heard a thing about this game but it looks very cool. I love the idea of games with skill based combat.
Good to see people with that level of talent contributing in a positive way rather than ending up in jail or living on the lam.
Some GIFs or something might really help the DOTA uninitiated relate to some of the inner workings of this book. I am still a bit confused about it as well.
Riot’s excuse for not going down this path is pretty amusing though. I mean heaven forbid that next year the prize pool might only be $8 million, phfff I mean why even bother?!?
I was really hoping that some game company just ripped her name and likeness into some knock-off game. Knowing it’s legit… is sadness.
Help me out, what is cool about having a ‘real’ language in the game? It seems like a waste of resources to me. I guess if this game were to hit some kind of insane popularity, that put to shame WoW numbers, then hardcore fans might find novelty in learning the fake language but that seems incredibly unlikely.
Sucks for all involved but Microsoft does not seem to have enough hits on their hands to justify that size of a workforce. Hopefully the ‘thousands’ number stays below the 10’s of thousands.
I really do not like the sound effect they have for his lightning. Sounds like a ray gun instead of lightning.
I remember the PAX they showed up to and bought out seemingly the entire lot of marketing space available. I can’t even imagine how much money they blew on that just to disappear for years following it. Played it for a couple months and it was alright. I have NEVER liked MMOs though so I guess I’m just the wrong audience for all of those games. Even Destiny doesn’t have me excited.
Sweet! We didn’t have enough clash of the clans re-skinned clones on the app store yet.
The biggest problem I see is so many games are F2P these days that almost all purchases fall into the category of ‘game enhancing’ and can be bough multiple times which render the pass useless.
The prize pool is a pretty big story but the other fun side of that is the fact that the other $7.50 per sale is going to valve. That’s a solid $30 million in their pocket from this event’s Compendium sale alone. Wild.
I’m pretty sure that’s bj blazkowicz on the cover. Someone mixed them up apparently.
