Actually looking forward to this. Loved BL 1 and 2.
Grammar note: In the “Why Not Next-Gen” sidebar, the third graf has a sentence that reads, "So it was a really natural decision for us to prioritize the platforms that are customers are on. " That first “are” should be “our.”
It’s honestly the only thing holding me back.
I’ve found that when it comes to MMOs, I don’t really enjoy them without friends and if, say, I pre-order and make a Breton on the Ebonheart Pact and then a friend decides to pick up the game and he/she also wants to play a Breton, but is now forced to play on the Daggerfall Covenant (the default faction of the Breton race) because he/she didn’t pre-order, we can’t play together unless one of us buckles and either I make a new character or he/she chooses from one of the three default races for the Ebonheart Pact.
Seems like it would create a reduction in quality of play experience for at least one of us.
What’s worse is that devs said in the AMA on Reddit that they didn’t have any plans to extend the race/faction combination feature beyond the pre-order bonus. : /
Is anyone else worried that in order to have any race/faction combination you need to pre-order? Won’t that make playing with friends particularly difficult when choosing a faction you all agree on?
