NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, announced as an in-game character for Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed at E3 2012, will drive a transforming Hot Wheels car in the game, Sega announced today on the company's blog.
Sega has partnered with Hot Wheels brand owner Mattel in the creation of Patrick's car, the bright green "Danicar," shown in action in the video above. The Danicar will also be available for purchase as a limited edition diecast vehicle this holiday.
"We are incredibly excited to link two iconic brands like Hot Wheels and Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog together for the first time," said Mattel vice president Matt Petersen in the blog post. "The new ‘Danicar' is a unique vehicle that combines style elements from Danica Patrick and Sonic the Hedgehog with the outrageous design that Hot Wheels is known for—resulting in an in-game vehicle and diecast toy that all of our fans will love."
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is coming to Wii U on November 18th and PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 20th. The PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS versions will release on December 11th, with a PC version coming this holiday.
