Sleeping Dogs developers letting fans vote on next add-on

pick your DLC pack

Samit Sarkar (he/him) is Polygon’s deputy managing editor. He has more than 15 years of experience covering video games, movies, television, and technology.

Sleeping Dogs' co-developers at United Front Games and Square Enix London Studios have put up a poll in which fans can choose the game's next downloadable add-on.

One of the options is set in the game's real-world Hong Kong; the other brings in elements of Chinese mythology, like the upcoming Halloween DLC.

With the Hong Kong Fire Fighter Pack, the developers would be responding to fans asking for a firefighting vehicle that will fit in the player's garage, as well as a fire axe as a new melee weapon. The DLC would also include a firefighter's outfit and a buff to damage resistance.

The Sun Wukong (Monkey King) Pack would bring in the titular simian, a legendary character from the Chinese epic novel Journey to the West. In addition, the developers mentioned that the DLC was inspired by their love for Monkey, the '80s and '90s Japanese TV series about the Chinese epic. The add-on would come with a Sun Wukong skin, a staff, a buff to melee damage and a Sun Wukong-themed vehicle.

Voting is taking place on Facebook through Sunday, Oct. 21. As of this writing, nearly five times as many votes have been cast for the Sun Wukong Pack as for the Fire Fighter Pack.
