Dave and Buster's arcade-restaurant chain has hired Xbox co-creator Kevin Bachus as the company's new senior vice president of entertainment and game strategy.
Bachus will help the Dallas-based chain extend from an on-site gaming company into the mobile and online sectors.
"We are thrilled to welcome Kevin to our team," said chief executive officer Steve King in a press release. "He has a remarkable record in the gaming industry and high-impact expertise in social networks, new product development, and game console software. His skills will be critically important as we continue to develop and implement the strategy for our multi-platform future."
"Video game enthusiasts are always looking for the next big thing, and I believe Dave and Buster's is uniquely positioned to deliver it to them," Bachus added. "As a long-time fan of Dave and Buster's, I am excited to have the opportunity to help shape the next phase of interactive entertainment outside of the home."
Founded in 1982, Dave and Buster's operates in 60 locations in North America.
Before coming to Dave and Buster's, Bachus was chief product officer at social networking service Bebo. Prior to Bebo, Bachus held executive-level positions at several major industry companies and co-founded independent production companies Capital Entertainment Group and Nival Interactive. While at Microsoft, Bachus assisted in the creation of the first Xbox console.
