Resident Evil: Revelations director Koshi Nakanishi believes the Wii U's hardware features would allow him to make a "unique and fun" Resident Evil title on the console, according to an interview with the Official Nintendo Magazine UK.
Nakanishi did not confirm whether a new entry in the franchise is in development on Wii U, but said, "If I was to work on a game for the Wii U, I would definitely want to make something that couldn't be done on any other hardware." He singled out the GamePad, saying, "The GamePad's separate screen enables so many possibilities, and playing on a television screen would enable sharing the experience in a way that wasn't possible on Nintendo 3DS."
He added, "There are lots of things I'd like to try out on it."
Resident Evil 6, the most recent game in the series, launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 earlier this month and will be available on PC next year. Capcom is making Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Nintendo's new console, but has made no announcements of other Wii U games. Christian Svensson, Capcom's senior vice president of consumer software, said in September that the company is working on other Wii U games, although he did not provide any further details.
