Vehicular combat game Carmageddon is being ported to iOS next week, with an Android version coming later this year or in early 2013, reports Joystiq.
Stainless Games founders Patrick Buckland and Neil Barnden told Joystiq that the game has been submitted to Apple for approval, while the Android port remains in development. The game will be free for 24 hours after launch and will cost $1.99 afterward, per the developer's promise on the game's Kickstarter campaign.
The mobile port of the 1997 PC title features the ability to share in-game captured videos through YouTube and Facebook. Beginning levels have been tweaked to make controls more accessible to players unfamiliar with the mechanics, and unlike the original does not include multiplayer.
