Silent Hunter Online video sinks your battleship

Silent Hunter Online, a browser-based naval military strategy title, received its first gameplay video from publisher Ubisoft today, featuring some U-boat action.

As the pilot of a German submarine, the player gets a destroyer in its sights, then fires a torpedo toward it. The strategy comes in when trajectory is considered — an explosion just beneath the battleship will actually do more damage to the hull than a direct hit.

Up to four players will be able to take part in Silent Hunter Online missions, as they work toward the completion of server-side missions and world events. Silent Hunter Online, developed by Ubisoft Blue Byte, is scheduled for release this fall. Interested parties can head to the game's official website to sign up for its upcoming closed beta.
