Massively multiplayer online title The Lord of the Rings Online is now available on Mac in its beta client form, developer Turbine announced today.
The client is available for players in North America and Europe, and can be downloaded through Turbine's website.
"We are really excited to open up the world of Middle-earth to Mac," said executive producer Kate Paiz said in a press release. "We've just launched our biggest expansion yet and we're happy to welcome gamers to play the game natively on Mac OS X for the first time ever."
A Mac client for The Lord of the Rings Online had been unavailable prior to the release of the Riders of Rohan expansion back, launched for PC on Oct. 15. The Mac client was tested alongside the Riders of Rohan beta.
We have reached out to Turbine for more information on the full release of The Lord of the Rings Online for Mac, and will update this story with more information as we have it.
