PIXLD removed from App Store, studio says it 'should be back up shortly'

PIXLD, the first game to be released by Quantum Conundrum developer Airtight Games' new mobile division, has been taken down from the iTunes App Store, reports IGN.

According to an IGN source, a legal challenge based on the similarity of PIXLD's name to an existing app or apps led to the removal of the game from the App Store. When reached for comment, PIXLD creative director Kim Swift confirmed to Polygon that Airtight Mobile "caught wind of a complaint," and said the studio pulled the game "due to an internal miscommunication."

Swift said PIXLD "should be back up shortly," and added, "We apologize for the inconvenience!" In the meantime, she told Polygon, "We're still trying to figure out what we'd like to do about [the complaint]."

PIXLD launched Oct. 29 on iOS at a promotional price of $0.99; its regular price is $1.99.
