Square Enix's classic role-playing game Final Fantasy 3 comes to Amazon's Kindle Fire tablet today. The visually overhauled remake is now available on the Amazon Appstore for Android, priced at $15.99.

Final Fantasy 3 for Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD has been "specifically optimized" for play on Amazon's tablets, with tweaked touchscreen controls adjusted to make the game "smoother and easier than ever to play," according to Square Enix.

The game was originally released by Square in 1990 on Nintendo's Famicom. The version of Final Fantasy 3 for Kindle Fire is based on the 2006 remake first released on Nintendo DS. Versions of Final Fantasy 3 are also available for iOS and other Android devices, as well as PSP.
