The Art Department offers accredited art degrees from video game art talent

The Art Department, an art education program co-founded by the former president of concept art house and now video game developer Massive Black, is now an accredited institution, offering Associates of Arts in Fine Arts and the Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts degrees from Colorado's Aspen University.

The school offers concentrations in illustration, drawing and painting, entertainment 2D and entertainment 3D. Its faculty has contributed artwork to AAA franchises including Dead Space, StarCraft, The Elder Scrolls and the Prince of Persia. The Art Department's founders' previous clients include Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, EA, Activision Blizzard, Square Enix, Black Isle Studios and id software.

Prospective artists can work toward accredited degrees with The Art Department starting in the spring of 2013.

The Art Department was created in 2009 by founders of the award-winning Illustration Academy and leading art education portal Conceptart.org, John English and Jason Manley.
