Bastion comes to iPhone and iPod touch with universal app update

Supergiant Games' action role-playing game Bastion is now available on smaller screens thanks to the iOS version's latest update. With the release of version 1.1, Bastion now supports newer versions of the iPhone and iPod touch, making the previously iPad-only game a universal app.

Bastion now supports Apple's iPhone 4S, fifth generation iPod touch and iPhone 5 — including that device's larger 4" display. The game does not run on previous versions of the iPhone and iPod touch for technical reasons, Supergiant Games says.

"Bastion also plays great on the recently released iPad mini and 4th generation iPad," the developer writes on its website. "The iPad mini's smaller form factor turns out to be a very comfortable fit if you prefer the Classic Controls setting, and the game runs especially fast and smooth on the 4th gen iPad."

The iOS version of Bastion has also been updated with iCloud support, allowing players to access their save files on multiple devices.

Bastion is currently priced at $4.99 on the iTunes App Store, but players who already own the iPad version can download the universal update for free.
