Nominees have been announced for the tenth annual Spike TV Video Game Awards, scheduled for Friday, Dec. 7 at 9 p.m. ET, with Borderlands 2, Halo 4 and Journey earning seven nominations each.
The awards ceremony, hosted by actor Samuel L. Jackson, will honor games across nearly 30 categories, including best on each platform, Best Soundtrack, Best Graphics and Best Performance by a Human Male and Female.
Game of the Year nominations include recently-released Assassin's Creed 3, Arkane Studios' Dishonored, Mass Effect 3, Telltale Games' The Walking Dead episodic series and Journey.
The VGAs will also include new trailers for Naughty Dog's The Last of Us, Gears of War: Judgment and South Park: The Stick of Truth, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.
The event will be broadcast live on Spike TV, MTV2 and MTV Tr3s as well as through Xbox LIVE, and will be streamed internationally on Spike's website and GameTrailers.
