A new firmware update for the PlayStation Vita is now available and allows users to access email on the handheld console, perform wireless transfers between the Vita and PC and offers enhanced performance of the web browser.
The email app is simply called "Email" and comes with automatic setup for Gmail and Yahoo Mail accounts. The app also allows for multiple accounts, which is useful for those who have more than one Gmail account. It does, however, lack the ability to archive emails and thread conversations.
A number of apps have also received a design overhaul, such as the the Maps app, which now shows weather information, and users can also opt for notifications to have different settings.
On the gaming front, the firmware update lets users assign controller buttons for certain PSOne Classics.
