Edmund McMillen of Team Meat has posted several mockup images for the retro remake of The Binding of Isaac, along with a poll gauging fan reactions, on his personal blog.
McMillen warns that the images "aren't real in the slightest" and do not show the actual game, but are instead there to see how fans will react to a retro pixilated style. The survey asks players whether they prefer a graphical style influenced by The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, a Game Boy Advance style of graphics or other 16-bit options. Proposed platforms for Rebirth include PC, iPad, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
Plans for a console remake of The Binding of Isaac were revealed on Nov. 28 during a Gamasutra post-mortem on the game. McMillen hopes to remake the game in 16-bit style, along with local co-op. Specific consoles have not yet been announced, although McMillen has said that both Sony and Microsoft have expressed interest in the game as a downloadable title.
The Binding of Isaac is currently available for Windows, Mac and Linux.
