Boulder Dash-XL re-releasing on iOS

Boulder Dash-XL, a puzzle game that first launched in 2011 for Xbox Live Arcade and PC, will release for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, reports Joystiq.

XL is just one installment in the heavily populated Boulder Dash series, which originated in 1984 with the Atari. Players travel caves as either Rockford or Crystal, two mining robots, to solve puzzles, avoid obstacles and nab crystals.

The Boulder Dash-XL port will feature five game modes, four worlds and more than 100 caves for $2.99. The game is being co-published by First Star Software and HeroCraft. A release date has not yet been announced.
