The Phantom Pain developer releases screenshots, debunks Twitter accounts

The Phantom Pain developer Moby Dick Studio released screenshots taken from the game's Spike Video Game Awards debut trailer recently, and said that nobody from the company is on social networks in an official capacity.

Twitter accounts purporting to be those of studio CEO Joakim Mogren and of the company sprang up yesterday, with Mogren's sporting a profile image featuring Metal Gear director Hideo Kojima altered to give him blond hair on his head and face. The fake Mogren account has been mentioning the Metal Gear franchise directly.

Moby Dick Studio has since updated its "About" page with the following message:

[DISCLAIMER] Moby Dick Studio and our representatives do not currently operate through any social medias such as Facebook or Twitter, except for YOUTUBE.Once the Phantom Pain trailer premiered during Friday night's Video Game Awards, speculation ran rampant on the web as to the new game's connections, or lack thereof, to the Metal Gear series. Watch the trailer for yourself below — according to the description from the developer, "All footage is shown running in real-time on hardware equivalent to current generation consoles (PS3 & XBOX360)."
