Big Sky Infinity, the side-scrolling space shooter from Boss Baddie and VooFoo Studios, will be available today on PlayStation Network on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita for $9.99, Boss Baddie announced today.

It is part of Sony's Cross Buy promotion, so those who buy the game on one platform will receive a free copy on the other.

The twin-stick shooter offers procedurally generated levels in which players fly across the cosmos, destroying enemy ships to pick up starbits that can be used to upgrade their own vessel. Periodic events spice up the side-scrolling shooting — according to Boss Baddie director James Whitehead, they're "crazy, gameplay-shifting happenings."

Multiplayer action supports up to four players on PS3 simultaneously, while the PS Vita version offers asynchronous high score battles.

According to the European PlayStation Blog, Big Sky Infinity will cost £7.99 in the U.K. and €9.99 in Europe. For European PlayStation Plus members, it will be free for a limited time as part of the Instant Game Collection.
