The Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition Halloween costume pack, a bundle of character skins for the XBLA version of Mojang's world-crafting game, raised over $770,000 for a number of charitable organizations, developer 4J Studios announced today.
The bundle, which went live on Oct. 26, gave players access to 55 Halloween-themed skins for 160 Microsoft Points ($2). All of the proceeds for these purchases was split between charities including Child's Play, Macmillan Cancer Support, and others. The skins, which were designed by studios like Twisted Pixel and Rare, were apparently quite popular, bringing in a large sum for the charities.
We are delighted to confirm that the Halloween Skin Pack brought in a total of $770,448 for the charities! Thanks everyone :) #MinecraftXBLA
