Rayman Legends being published by Nintendo in Japan in spring 2013

Rayman Legends, the Wii U-exclusive sequel to 2011's Rayman Origins, will be published by Nintendo in Japan, where the game will be released in spring 2013, Ubisoft announced today.

"We are delighted to have our promising Rayman Legends published by Nintendo in Japan," said Geoffroy Sardin, vice president of sales and marketing for Ubisoft in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. "We are very glad that [it] will benefit from Nintendo's unrivaled experience of the Japanese market."

Ubisoft and Nintendo have not announced a specific release date for Japan. Rayman Legends will launch in North America on Feb. 26; in Europe, the Middle East and Africa on Feb. 28; and in the U.K. on March 1. Until then, Wii U owners can play the game's demo, which is available worldwide on the Wii U eShop today.
