Namco Bandai will bring Naruto Powerful Shippuden to the Nintendo 3DS in March 2013, the publisher announced today, offering a side-scrolling action fighting game take on the enduringly popular anime.

Developed by Inti Creates, the team behind many Mega Man Zero games, with some help from CyberConnect2, Naruto Powerful Shippuden is based on the Naruto Spin-off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals. Players will be able to control Naruto or Rock Lee — and have the option to call in other characters for support — in the stylized action fighting game with a "comedic presentation," according to Namco Bandai.

Powerful Shippuden will include a story mode and Endless Battle mode, experience point-based character progression and touchscreen controls.
