Super Mario Bros. 3 will release on Japan's Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console on Jan. 1, Nintendo announced.
The game will be available for ¥500 and will feature two-player gaming through download play. It is still unknown if the port will release in other regions.
Super Mario Bros. 3 first released in Japan in 1988 on the Nintendo. The game has since been ported to several other consoles, including the Super Nintendo, Game Boy Advance and Wii.
