A Dec. 31 update to PlayStation Plus brought NBA Jam: On Fire Edition and Chronovolt free to Plus subscribers amid the final week of the Holiday Essentials sale, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog.
Released in Oct. 2011, NBA Jam: On Fire Edition's arcade basketball action is regularly $19.99 for PlayStation 3 owners. Chronovolt, a steampunk-influenced puzzle platformer from Playerthree, released in December and offers gameplay reminiscent of Marble Madness for the PlayStation Vita. PlayStation Plus subscribers can download both for free.
The free games appear in addition to the remaining PlayStation Network Holiday Essentials deals that include discounts on the following games:
