Raiden, the protagonist of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, will spend much of the game cleaving enemies open while he rips out their spines, if this video from the game's demo is anything to go by.
That apparently applies to robotic as well as human foes — Raiden dashes toward enemies, cuts them up, yanks the "spine" out and crushes it in his free hand. Thanks to his cybernetically enhanced reflexes, he can also use his blade to deflect projectile attacks such as grenades, whether rocket-propelled or tossed.
The Revengeance demo is included in copies of the Zone of the Enders HD Collection.
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, developed by Platinum Games, is set for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on Feb. 19 in North America. For more details, check out our hands-on preview from the 2012 Tokyo Game Show.
