Zen Pinball 2 will make its way to the Wii U eShop in December in North America and Europe, developer Zen Studios announced today.

It will be a free download with paid DLC tables, just like the versions already available on PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The library of tables at launch will include three sets of Marvel Pinball tables — Marvel Pinball, Marvel Pinball: Avengers Chronicles and Marvel Pinball: Vengeance and Virtue — along with the three-table Zen Classic Pack and a wide variety of individual units such as a Plants vs. Zombies table. Free demos of every table will be available, and Zen Studios is promising it will deliver "regular table releases" through the eShop.

The Wii U version of Zen Pinball 2 will include GamePad-specific features such as the ability to control the plunger on the touchscreen and tilt the unit to look around a table's environment. In addition, users will be able to play entirely on the GamePad. Zen Pinball 2 will offer split-screen local multiplayer gaming, global leaderboards and social features like notifications of friends' scores.
