Xbox Live gets new entertainment apps today including Rhapsody, Blip.TV

Xbox Live is launching a number of different entertainment apps in select countries today, Xbox's Larry Hryb announced on Major Nelson.

Starting today, Xbox Live members in the U.S. will be able to download and sign up for Rhapsody and its millions-deep streaming song catalog and Blip.TV, a service dedicated to broadcasting popular web series.

Canadian users now have access to the official IGN app with Kinect gesture and voice functionality, as well as French language video-streaming app TOU.TV.

Additionally, users in the UK and Germany are getting Lovefilm, a service that offers subscription packages for live-streaming movies, television shows and games. The Netherlands is also getting the RTL XL video streaming service.
