Assassin's Creed 3 Possibly Set During American Revolution

An assassin always sees the whites of their eyes.

The next Assassin's Creed will take place during the American Revolution, if we're to believe a leaked image from the GameInformer website. The banner, for Assassin's Creed III, shows a new assassin standing alongside George Washington in a modified version of the famous patriotic painting, "Washington Crossing the Delaware"

The banner image, above, was quickly removed by GameInformer, but not before website Toastervision snapped a screencap.

The news buttresses a similar rumor posted early this morning on Kotaku. A tipster claiming to be a Best Buy employee provided the outlet with a picture of what looks like a Native American assassin. In the photo, posted below, a mysterious figure stands in front of a colonial american flag, wearing leather spates, moccasins and the signature assassin hood. In his hands are a musket and a tomahawk, and on his back is a bow.

The assassin in the photo appears to be the same assassin from the banner at GameInformer.

At this moment, neither the images nor the setting are confirmed, but that shouldn't stop you from speculating in the comments on how an assassin might stealthily oust a redcoat.
