Pinewood Studios will give students hands-on game dev experience

Pinewood Studios and Amersham & Wycombe College are working together to create a center of excellence for screen-based industries to educate students ages 16 to 24, the studio announced today.

Pinewood is a major film studio located in the UK. The center will cover video games in addition to film, TV and animation at Pinewood Studio. Students will have the opportunity to work on real media projects with industry colleagues, said Andrew Smith, the director of strategy and communication at Pinewood.

"By basing the center at Pinewood it will allow students to work with and learn from industry colleagues who are at the top of their game, working on award winning and international productions on a daily basis," said Smith. "We hope it will help to provide the next generation of talent with the skills they need to turn their ideas into commercial success."
