MIT Game Lab and Boston Indies announced today that the second annual Boston Festival of Indie Games will take place on Sept. 14 this year.
The festival, which made its debut in 2012, is a celebration of independent game development in New England and its neighboring regions. The free event draws game developers and game enthusiasts from around the country to participate in a day of playing video games, tabletop games, location-based games and live-action role-playing.
The event also seeks to showcase games developed in the region. Last year 35 games were chosen from a list of more than a hundred to be featured in the festival. Submissions for 2013's showcase will open in late February and information on event registration will also be made available at that time.
