Killer is Dead screenshots show gore-splattered combat and a suit-clad warrior

Developer Grasshoper Manufacture's upcoming game, high-speed action title Killer is Dead, will feature some gory combat and splashy visuals, as shown in a bundle of screenshots posted to Famitsu's website this morning.

The screenshots above paint a bloody picture of Killer is Dead, details of which were released earlier this week in the latest magazine issue of Famitsu. Elements like blood and light are shown in vivid, glowing color. A dramatic, harsh lightning scheme creates pockets of shadow across objects and faces, making the latter look sinister or angelic depending on the intensity. Viewers can get a first look at flashing swords, glowing guns and game's scowling, suit-clad hero.

According to CEO Suda51, Killer is Dead will be the first in the "assassin" series the studio has been working on for some time and "picks up where Killer7 and No More Heroes left off."

Killer is Dead will be published by Kadokawa Games, the company that also published Grasshopper's Lollipop Chainsaw.
