Grasshopper Manufacture's next game, Killer is Dead, is due to hit Japan this summer and promises to pick up where Killer7 and No More Heroes left off. The game's first trailer, showing cyborg assassin and ladies man Mondo Zappa doing his thing, helps illustrate how Killer is Dead looks similar in visual style to — but different in action from — Grasshopper's previous assassination games.
The debut trailer for Killer is Dead shows off Zappa's skill with sword and arm cannon, a rogues gallery of bizarre cybernetic enemies and the game's slick, cel-shaded style. Stick around for the end of the video, in which Mondo Zappa breaks the fourth wall and teases a follow-up video focusing on "a beautiful woman who has devilish hands."
Killer is Dead is slated for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this summer in Japan, courtesy of publisher Kadokawa Games.
